Richard Lee Barteaux - Death Certificate May 8, 1993

Richard Lee Barteaux died alone in the two bedroom, one bath house, purchased for him by his adopted parents, Walter Dean and Betty Mae Barteaux.  He was their only child.

Richard had moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming over ten years previously because his DUIs in California made it impossible for him to drive in that state.

His father, Walter Dean Barteaux, paid him a stipend and purchased a clunker which was driven by a friend of Richard's who was also an alcoholic.

Richard's occupation was staying drunk.  His beverage of choice was beer.  At the time of his death he was 43 years of age.

  1. This doesn't surprise me 1 bit! I do blame his adoptive parents for thinking $ will buy anything including love!

    1. Don't understand WY?? He never mentioned it, I will say it's hard to hit anything there with a car. Hmmm wonder what happened to the new Toyota they gave us for a wedding present
Why not the Delorian?? Have I proved myself yet? That Delorian was never outside Barco.

  3. I really don't understand how he ended up in Wyoming of all places I would have thought it would have been New Orleans where he mentioned he wanted to return to when we lived in Las Vegas

    1. According to his daughter-in-law he left California to avoid losing his driver’s license. She did not mention other locations except Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he died. His parents, she said, bought a house for him to live in, so there he stayed

    2. He didn't have a driver's license to lose they took that away from him long before I even met him and by the way what legally gives you the right to put my personal business in public since you've turned so nasty to me

    1. If you provide proof of identity I will be happy to interview you or post your own narrative on your experience with Barteaux. Your friend who enabled your escape can do the same. Do you want to tell your story? Further documents and photos could be used to illustrate your story. From what I have been told, Richard’s behavior never changed. Belinda had my sympathy when I heard he had married a third time.

    3. And besides why would I say I'm someone who was such a fool if I wasn't??
Lying was Richards game not mine.

    4. I am asking for proof to protect Belinda. If you are Belinda then you can provide proof to me. How would Belinda feel if I allowed someone who misrepresented her to speak for her? It would be wrong and could injure her. You can contact me through the contact forms on the site. Belinda went through enough being married to Richard, I know, I still carry the scars. This site is here to help others understand the trauma inflicted by people like Richard.

  5. How about this I feel like I escaped Ted Bundy!! Do we believe I'm who I say I am yet? You can check police records, hospital records, which I'm sure are long since gone as most involved. I don't like being called a liar epically over something like this!! That's something Richard would have done. No one has mentioned frame yet. That poor lady took out my stiches!
