Family Lines

Walter Dean Barteaux  & Betty Mae Stevens Barteaux  Adoptive parents of Richard Lee Barteaux.

The family had made money from defense contracts for NASA, according to Dr. Richard L. Farr, "W. Dean Barteaux owned an aerospace defense company named "BARCO AVIATION"-the original source of the Barteaux family wealth-located on Exposition Blvd (near the LA/Santa Monica, CA, border), from the early to mid 1950's, until W. Dean Barteaux sold the company sometime in the late 1980's (possibly the early 1990's) Richard Lee Barteaux sporadically worked for Barco Aviation during the 1970's and 1980's, until leaving California for Wyoming (approximately late 1980's/1990 period)." This is exactly what I remember.  But I would never say Richard actually worked, just that he drew an income.

Richard Lee Barteaux
Richard was adopted by the Barteauxs at birth. Richard Lee Barteaux's birth name (prior to adoption) was: Joseph Aloysius MANGOLD, according to Dr. Richard  L. Far, who is posting information which I, in large part, can confirm, on this site.

His birth mother was, according to two reliable sources, an unwed student from UCLA whose last name was said to be Gold or Goldstein.  There was no report of the father's name or background but his adopted mother, Betty Mae Barteaux, told his first wife, Melinda, his  mother was Jewish in background.

Richard pursued his interest in Adolph Hitler, listening to his speeches and wearing his SS uniform on and off for many years.  He was unaware of his own background.

Carolyn Anne Barteaux is the eldest child of Richard Lee Barteaux, born of his marriage with Melinda Pillsbury-Foster (Nee Mary Linda Pillsbury). Her name is now Morgan Gell.

At the time the will of Walter Dean Barteaux was read, 2005, the question was posed on providing an inheritance to Morgan.   Richard Lee Senior had been deceased for some years, having died in 1993 of chronic alcoholism.  Richard Lee Junior forbade anyone in the family from contacting her.

Richard, Junior, has complete control of the estate, its income, coming from investments and an income derived from rentals of commercial property, estimated to have a worth of around 50 million dollars.

The law firm handling the estate is Douglas Smith, out of Newport Beach.
4675 Macarthur Ct #800

Newport Beach, CA 92660
Office: 949-255-6950

Richard Lee Barteaux, Junior has several homes, one is located on a golf course, La Quinta, in Palm Springs, and another hom, valued at two million, is located in Madera Ranch in Orange County.

His only paid job, except for his present income from the estate, was three weeks of bagging groceries at Ralphs in 1990.

Richard, Junior claims to be fully employed managing a family trust.

He is now building a second mansion for himself.

There are three offspring of the sole heir to the Barteaux Estate, those being Morgan Barteaux Pillsbury Gell, Richard Lee Barteaux, Junior, and Angel Dawn Barteaux.

Yet Morgan has never received a penny from the Trust and Richard Senior and his parents failed completely to provide a cent of support for her while she was growing up.

When asked about this Richard is quoted to have said, "Don't mention it to anyone."

Angel Dawn Barteaux lives in Modesto.  She received 2 million from the Trust which provides a regular income, paid out monthly. Angel sells sex toys for Party Gal, to keep  busy.

    2. In my experience he was a violent psychopath. He stalked me, driving by our house at insane speeds. Since it was a very nice residential area there were children who were endangered. Where did you have your wedding?

  3. W. Dean and Betty Barteaux, adoptive parents of Richard Lee Barteaux, purchased a fine home located @ 2635 Monte Mar Drive, in Cheviot Hills, CA, around 1959/60 (perhaps a few years earlier) This was the Baqrteaux "family home" (Richard Lee was residing at this home in 1966, when he began his relationship with Melinda Pillsbury, and also in 1968, when he met and married second wife Beverly) Richard Lee Barteaux would continue to reside at this home, off and on, until his departure for Wyoming; the Barteaux's sold this house sometime in the late 1980's (perhaps as late as the early 1990's), moving permanently into what had been their "second home", located in Palm Springs, CA.

Every dime I had of my own he took away, along with glasses, n drivers license like that would stop me from getting bbq away!

    10. Richard wanted what he wanted and was used to getting it. He intimidated me into agreeing to marry him with threats. I was young and had never experienced anyone like him. Dad was then a professor at UCLA and later I realized he and Mother both were bewildered by the relationship. Richard insisted we elope and threatened me. An mutual friend, Tom Buckley, had introduced us in the late spring of 1966. He asked me to marry him and handed me an engagement ring. I was astonished. Soon after that, he and his parents went to Hawaii for what I remember was two months. I told my parents; they were stunned. But his mother kept coming over and bringing me wedding presents, an unending stream of these, all intended to be useful to me when the wedding, which she was planning to have soon, took place. Betty had her reasons for wanting to fob Richard off on someone else. She shared that with me after she and Dean threw a huge reception for us soon after we returned from being married. She was clearly delighted.
The intensity of Richard's demands were frightening. Then, he demanded we elope without telling anyone. I was in shock. But what happened later, the day before we were married in Starkville, Mississippi, was even more disoriented. I tried to forget it for years. I just wanted to wipe out the memories. But I was pregnant and threw myself into getting ready to give birth. I made all of her baby clothes myself and embroidered every piece with initials, CAB, different names for a girl of a boy. I named the baby, a beautiful little girl, Carolyn Anne. After Richard found out I was pregnant, in October or November, he told me he would have sex with my baby if it was a girl. I promised myself I would do anything to keep her safe.
This was also the time he started battering me. I had to get away from him, for my own safety and for the baby, in case it was a girl, and of course, it was. I never told my parents about much of this because I was frightened and ashamed to have caused them so much trouble. But this story will be told on psychokin.com. The time I was with him was short, but every day was traumatic. Time heals, and every one of our stories about coping with highly psychopathic individuals can help others survive.

  4. Note: My connection with Richard Lee Barteaux (and the Barteaux family)

I became close friends with Richard Lee Barteaux beginning at California Military Academy, in the Autumn of 1963, and continued a close relationship with him and his parents, through approximately the end of 1971. Except for a period of several months (late May through approximately October/November, 1966) I was in nearly constant touch with Richard Barteaux (and his parents), and the events of his life, and his activities, thoughts, fantasies, outlooks, etc, during that 8 year period of time (from his 13th through his 21st years of life)
I will be happy to share this detailed, first-hand information with this blog, if any are interested.

    1. Hi If you are looking for assistance in dealing with disordered family members here are some resources available to you. Hare.org, which is sponsored by Dr. Robert Hare. They provide forums and support with licensed professionals. Lovefraud.com is a site which allows people to write about their experiences. There still may be a forum but it is not overseen by professionals. There is also a site, lifestealers.org, which provides links to further information. Hope this is helpful. Best, Melinda
